STELLAR UPGRADES — WARRANTIES & COVERAGE

BUILT TO LAST — BACKED BY CLEAR WARRANTIES

Solar and energy systems are long-term investments. They must be installed correctly, documented properly, and supported long after installation.

This page explains — in plain language — what is covered, who covers it, and how warranty issues are handled, so there are no surprises later.

Stellar Upgrades is an Alberta-based, locally owned company with 500+ completed projects. Our warranties reflect how we build systems: carefully, transparently, and with long-term accountability.

⸻

HOW WARRANTIES WORK (IMPORTANT TO READ)

Every system includes two types of warranties:
   1.    Workmanship warranties — cover how the system is installed
   2.    Manufacturer warranties — cover the equipment itself

These are separate and serve different purposes.

⸻

STELLAR UPGRADES — WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY

What Our Workmanship Warranty Covers

Our workmanship warranty covers the quality of installation performed by Stellar Upgrades certified electricians.

This includes:
   •    Electrical wiring, terminations, and connections
   •    Panel mounting hardware and roof penetrations (flashing and sealing)
   •    Inverter, battery, and EV charger installation
   •    System integration and commissioning
   •    Conduit routing and equipment placement
   •    Grounding and electrical safety compliance

Standard Coverage
   •    5-year workmanship warranty included with every installation
   •    Optional extension to 10 years (must be selected before installation)

What Workmanship Warranty Does NOT Cover
   •    Manufacturer defects in equipment
   •    Damage caused by extreme events beyond standard building code conditions
(e.g. tornadoes, major flooding, direct lightning strikes)
   •    Damage caused by homeowner modifications or third-party repairs
   •    Normal roof aging or re-roofing unrelated to our installation
   •    Physical damage from fallen trees, vehicles, or vandalism

⸻

MANUFACTURER WARRANTIES (EQUIPMENT)

Manufacturer warranties are provided directly by the equipment manufacturer and remain valid regardless of installer status.

Exact terms depend on product model and production year and are provided in your documentation package.

⸻

Solar Panels — LONGi
   •    Long-term product warranty against manufacturing defects
   •    Long-term linear performance warranty guaranteeing power output remains within manufacturer-specified limits over time

What this means:
If a panel fails due to a manufacturing issue or degrades outside warranty limits, LONGi determines the remedy (repair, replacement, or compensation) under their warranty terms.

⸻

Microinverters — APsystems
   •    Long-term product warranty against manufacturing defects

What this means:
If a microinverter fails due to a covered defect, APsystems provides a replacement unit. Installation labor is handled according to your workmanship warranty period.

⸻

Battery Storage — EP Cube
   •    Manufacturer warranty covering battery defects and capacity degradation beyond stated limits

What this means:
If the battery hardware fails under warranty, the manufacturer provides replacement components. Installation-related issues are covered under Stellar Upgrades workmanship warranty.

⸻

EV Chargers — Wallbox
   •    Manufacturer warranty covering charger defects

Stellar Upgrades installation warranty:
   •    Covers electrical wiring, breaker installation, mounting, and commissioning

All EV charger installations are completed to current Alberta Electrical Code and inspected where required.

⸻

Battery Storage — Gemstone
   •    Manufacturer warranty covering battery defects and control system failures

Stellar Upgrades installation warranty:
   •    Covers electrical integration, wiring, and system setup

⸻

OPTIONAL EXTENDED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY (10 YEARS)

Available for solar installations at the time of installation only.

Includes:
   •    Extension of original workmanship coverage to 10 years
   •    Priority scheduling for warranty service
   •    Periodic system condition reviews during extended period

Why this matters:
Most installation-related issues, if they occur, appear within the first few years. Extended coverage provides added peace of mind during the most critical ownership period.

⸻

WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY (HOME SALE)

Solar Systems
   •    Workmanship warranty transfers to the new homeowner at no cost
   •    Manufacturer warranties transfer according to manufacturer terms
   •    Warranty documentation provided for closing records

Batteries & EV Chargers
   •    Manufacturer warranties transfer automatically
   •    Installation warranty transfers at no cost

Why this matters:
Transferable warranties improve resale value and buyer confidence.

⸻

WHY SOLAR WARRANTIES MATTER IN ALBERTA

Alberta systems face:
   •    Extreme cold
   •    Hail exposure
   •    Large temperature swings
   •    Electrical loads affected by heating and EV adoption

Systems must be designed and installed for these conditions, not generic assumptions.

Local installation quality and proper documentation are essential for long-term performance and warranty protection.

⸻

IF STELLAR UPGRADES IS NO LONGER OPERATING

Manufacturer warranties remain valid regardless of installer status.

Another qualified electrician can service the system using the documentation we provide.
This is why we supply complete system records for every installation.

⸻

AFTER WARRANTIES EXPIRE

We continue to support systems we install:
   •    Diagnostic service calls
   •    Repairs and replacements
   •    System expansions (batteries, EV chargers, additional panels)
   •    Monitoring and performance troubleshooting

Because we know your system — we designed and installed it.

⸻

OUR COMMITMENT

We explain warranties clearly because they matter over decades — not just at install.

No fine print.
No inflated claims.
Just clear coverage and local accountability.
